Treating Neuropathy

Neuropathy is a condition where the nerves of the body become damaged or diseased. This can lead to pain, tingling, burning, and numbness. Our interventions, such as acupuncture and electroacupuncture, are able to increase the blood flow and nutrients to the nerves which allows them to return to a healthy functioning state. Nerve damage does not have to be permanent. You don’t have to just live with it.

First, what is Peripheral Neuropathy?

Peripheral neuropathy refers to the many conditions that involve damage to the peripheral nervous system, the vast network of nerves that sends signals between the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) and all other parts of the body.

Over time our nerves experience a loss of blood supply from constriction which leads to degeneration. A damaged nerve will start to send abnormal signals to the brain which will bring sensations of burning, tingling, and intense pain that you might be experiencing.

Further, more serious progressions of nerve damage will present themselves as numbness. If the sensation loss is found in the feet, the serious risk of falling becomes more prevalent. Nerve damage in your hands could lead to a weaken grip and dropping things.

What are the treatment options for Peripheral Neuropathy?

At Cucamonga Acupuncture & Wellness, we have treatment options that return blood flow and nutrients to the affected areas to stimulate the growth and repair of blood vessels and peripheral nerves.

The only way to determine the amount of treatment needed for nerves to recover is to run a Neuropathy Severity Examination which is a painless, detailed neurological and vascular evaluation.

There is still hope even if you have sustained 85% nerve damage.

It is possible to find relief for Peripheral Neuropathy without having to take drugs with harmful side effects. Be at your best with your loved ones again.
