If any of this sounds familiar, you are one of more than 20 million people in the U.S. suffering from peripheral neuropathy. We can help.

What exactly is peripheral neuropathy?

Neuropathy (or Peripheral Neuropathy), a condition characterized by damage to the peripheral nerves, causes symptoms such as numbness, tingling, burning pain, and muscle weakness. The most common causes of peripheral neuropathy are diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disorders, vitamin B12 deficiency, alcohol abuse, chemotherapy, HIV infection, and many times as a result of a spinal injury. In over 1/3 of cases, doctors simply don't know the cause.

Neuropathy can affect your hands and feet as well as progress up your legs over time, making it difficult to drive and even walk. This debilitating condition can significantly impact your daily life and put you at risk of serious falls or injury. If you feel like your feet are on fire or sometimes can't feel them at all it can be a very scary experience. When the medications only work sometimes, the physical therapy hasn't worked at all, and your doctor has nothing left to offer but another prescription and their condolences, it may be time to try acupuncture and Eastern medicine.

Can acupuncture really help?

Absolutely. At Cucamonga Acupuncture & Wellness, we thrive in treating peripheral neuropathy no matter how many years you've been living with it. We have treatment options that return blood flow, nutrients, and oxygen to the affected areas to stimulate nerve and blood vessel repair... all without the need for harsh drugs that come with undesirable side effects. Over 8 years of practice, clinical director and board-certified sole practitioner Jasmine Casupanan, L.Ac boasts a 90% success rate in reversing its effects and reducing symptoms.

It isn't just the tingling, the numbness, or even the pain... it's the sleepless nights, it's being unable to run simple errands without fear of a fall. With the right treatment plan in place, we've been able to help our patients return to a place where they can confidently book that next vacation because they aren't bogged down with the possibility that they might be miserable the whole time due to their symptoms.
There is hope for another season.

The first step is to book your New Patient Consultation. You may call our office directly at 909.808.1406 or click the button below to fill out our contact form and our Patient Care Coordinator will reach out within 24 business hours.

How can I get started?

On the day of your in person consultation, our acupuncturist will go over your medical history in detail and design a customized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs... you are able to start care same day, if you wish.

We may also perform a non-invasive Neuropathy Severity Examination to determine the best approach needed for your case. It is a painless, detailed neurological and vascular evaluation to measure the approximate severity of damage sustained. Yes, everyone is different, but significant relief is certainly possible even with up to 80% nerve damage.

How does it work?

It used to be that the public thought acupuncture was nothing but a pseudo-science, a placebo. Well, millions of patients and hundreds of research studies into present day have since proven that idea wrong and demystified the mechanism of how acupuncture works.

With regards to neuropathy, the myelin sheath that coats and protects all our nerves has been severely damaged, covered in lesions caused by severe oxidative stress. Medications like gabapentin and muscle relaxers may provide some slight relief, but these are bandaids meant to cover up the symptoms without actually taking care of the root problem.

Our refined approach blends the 3000 year old wisdom of traditional acupuncture and customized herbal therapies with the modern technologies of electroacupuncture and our exclusive modality known as ATP Resonance BioTherapy™. Acupuncture and electroacupuncture help interrupt pain signals and improve nerve communication, while ATP Resonance BioTherapy™ is a painless, non-invasive therapy that uses gentle electrical currents to reduce inflammation, boost circulation, and accelerate tissue repair. Together, these therapies give your cells the energy they need to heal—helping you ease pain, restore healthy nerve function, and feel like yourself again.

You may even be doing what seem to be all the right things... the physical therapy, the massages, the vitamins, the supplements, etc... but if it still doesn't seem to be working, it might be that the engine (aka the mitochondrial function of your cells that span the entire nervous system from the brain to the extremities) isn't working properly. If the engine isn't working properly, no amount or quality of fuel (vitamins, supplements, medications) will get you as far as you could potentially go. We are here to help repair the engine.

All of our modalities are safe to use on patients who have surgically installed hardware like pins, plates, artificial joints, stents, pacemakers, pumps, and spinal cord stimulators. It can be used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments or as a standalone therapy, depending on the severity and underlying cause of the neuropathy. (Our practitioner of course will better assess risk and approach with caution on a case by case basis.)
